Relation between Amplitudes and Rupture Mechanisms in Composite Materials

J.M. Berthelot

Universite du Maine Laboratoire de Mécanique des Matériaux B.P. 535-72017 Le Mans Cedex, France

If in literature, reference is made to the energy released during the failure mechanisms, little attempts have been made to take account of the local time-varying discontinuities in volved by the fracture processes. The objective of this study is to have an approach of the contribution of the dynamic characteristics of the source-event, and of their influence on the amplitude values of acoustic emission signals.
