Fracture mechanics was employed to investigate delamination cracks induced by trans verse matrix cracks in composite angle structures. Critical strain energy release rates were obtained which compare quite reasonably with existing data. Adhesive films were also used to toughen the delamination-prone interfaces in the curved region. Experimental results indicated that the use of adhesive films could improve the load-carrying capacity of composite angle structures.
