In this paper some further bounds are given for the transverse modulus of a multiphase composite body when the stress distribution among the constituents of the composite is not uniform. A bound for the ratio of transverse modulus to the value given by the inverse mixture rule is also obtained here. The mixture is assumed to possess the properties as described in the literature.

Key Words: transverse modulus • inverse mixture rule • stresses on the phases
