A mathematical model is considered to obtain the expressions for elastic constants of a two phase isotropic composite in terms of respective elastic and other physical constants of the constituents enabling us to have an in-depth study of our earlier work proposed for the investigation of young's modulus. The composite is assumed to possess the properties described. Further, an emendation has been made in obtaining the young's modulus.

Key Words: strain energy functions • continuous part of inclusion
